This marks the fourth and final release in Lochlea’s limited-edition range, concluding their acclaimed Seasonal Trilogy. Matured in ex-Islay whisky casks and aged an extra year compared to its predecessor, this edition carries a touch more depth and confidence. The combination of the smoky Islay influence and additional maturation gives it a bolder, more refined character.
Nose:
Crisp green apples greet the senses, followed by a hint of coastal breeze and sea salt. Notes of tart fruit—almost like Starburst candies—mingle with gentle sweetness from cereal grains and a dusting of caster sugar.
Palate:
The ex-Islay cask influence shines through clearly. The peat is delicate yet assertive, dancing around the edges of the tongue with that recognizable smokiness. Beneath it, the signature Lochlea sweetness weaves in beautifully. Bright green apple and tangy fruit notes continue through the palate, adding a lively, refreshing quality to the dram.
