King’s Inch is a fab single malt Scotch whisky from Glasgow, drawn from a wonderful combination of first-fill bourbon casks and first-fill Oloroso sherry butts. Developed by Jack Mayo and the late Jim Swan, it’s a flavoursome Lowlander that is more than suitable to be sipped neat, but it’ll also do very well in cocktails too. The Scotch & Soda is a classic, and it should also make for a superb Sour.
Nose: Crisp green apple and pear notes, wrapped up in layers of vanilla and subtly toasty oak.
Palate: Vibrant fruit notes remain at the fore, with pineapple and orange joining the mix. Subtly chocolatey at points.
Finish: Buttery vanilla, cinnamon, a smidge of clove, and caramel.
