A beautiful example of the kind of delicate, grassy peated whisky you can find in Speyside. Fumare is the Latin for ‘Smoky’ and also Gaelic for ‘Peat’ because the Speyside Distillery doesn’t really mess around when it comes to naming its releases. This cask strength edition, bottled at 58% ABV, was matured in ex-burbon barrels to preserve all that smoky goodness.
Nose: Subtly smoky, shrouding honeyed nuts, stewed orchard fruit, and vanilla custard.
Palate: Toffee apple, malt cereal, and toasty oak join the lush forest fruit sweetness and grassy peat.
Finish: Slightly burnt brown sugar and smoked herbs.
